About Soberlicious

My Story

My alcohol journey is far from remarkable, it is the everyday, mundane story of normal life.

The daily drinking started in my thirties with a well-deserved drink (or two) at home after a stressful day at work.

I stopped working when I had my daughter. The stresses of life carried on—too much to do and not enough hours in the day. Combine that with a husband who often worked away meant I also felt quite lonely, and so the 7 p.m. bottle of wine became my saviour.

As my daughter got older and needed me less, I lost my sense of purpose. Wine o’clock got earlier, and I started to find myself preoccupied with thoughts of alcohol throughout the day. I tried, unsuccessfully, to moderate my drinking a number of times, but when I finally felt overwhelmed by the constant chatter in my head about alcohol, I knew I had to take action. At the age of 55, I decided to quit for good and instantly felt like a weight had been lifted. I have not looked back, only forward, ever since.

My journey to sobriety has been challenging at times, but having the right mindset, tools and support to overcome the hurdles has transformed my life.

I am now a certified Sober Coach and feel passionate about passing on my experience to help other women ditch the booze and find a new lease of life.
